POMPOM SCARVES

I found this lovely yarn at a cheap store and am knitting up two scarves from it. It is made up of a string of pompoms and has to be knitted together with very large needles. I am using 20mm needles for these.

It is an acrylic yarn but is so very soft and the pompoms give the scarves an amazing bouncy texture and chunky feel. I can't wait until I've finished them so that I can wear them.

ALMS FOR THE POOR? CHANGE FOR QUERELLE?

I am making jewelry - necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc - to sell online and at Uni in the hopes of making money for Querelle.

"What is Querelle?!" I hear you cry...

It is a publication that is attached to the event Queer Collaborations (a large convention of lovely - and occasionally not so lovely- Queer people that is held each year), it is a booklet, zine, mag... it comes in as many forms as those amazing people who write in and submit their work to it each year.

Last year it was published by WA Cross Campus Alliance, who did an AMAZING job, and Bathurst CSU won the job of publishing it this year.

I have every expectation that we will be able to produce something beautiful and memorable - whether we will be able to make the money to get that piece of beautiful memorabilia published is another thing.

So, watch as I create, be inspired by the things that I make... and most importantly, dig deep and buy!

All of the money will be going to the publication of Querelle2010.
